Comics: Afterlife Tales.

I've decided to stretch my limited content a little, so just the one chilling new page of Afterlife Tales today.

Page 5 of 'The Feat of Clay.' Join the fright here. Or, start at the beginning.

The story continues next New Comic Book Day, i.e. Wednesday--two more two-page installments until the confounding conclusion!

Comics: Afterlife Tales.

Two more chilling pages of the (hopefully) first issue of Afterlife Tales today.

Pages 3 and 4 of 'The Feat of Clay.' Join the fright here. Or, start at the beginning.

The story continues next New Comic Book Day, i.e. Wednesday.

In other news, I've hooked up with an artist for Small Press Idol 2007. His name is Alejandro Aragón, and he hails from Argentinia. Take a look at his wonderful samples in his ComicJobz profile here: http://www.comicjobz.com/account/?id=390

We're hard at work on our submission, tentatively titled Meghan's Madness.

Small Press Idol 2007.

I ran across Small Press Idol recently--I'd heard of the previous editions, but never really investigated. It seems like a pretty good deal, though. At the very least--for first round entries--you'll get exposure and criticism from judges who at first glance seem levelheaded and constructive.

And five finalists get a zero issue published, so that's about as good a prize as I get.

So my potential entry for SPI is now my primary writing focus--shifting certain other projects back yet again, but it's all for a good cause.

I just need two things:

A title for my otherwise thought-out entry;

And, the eternal problem, an artist.

Comics: Afterlife Tales.

In honor of International Singles Day, Telltale Productions is starting its very first webcomic today, and appropriately, it's a tale of love gone dreadfully wrong.

Afterlife Tales is a series of interlocking sagas exploring death and life--sometimes in that order--and the meaning behind it all. It's horror, and it might just get nasty.

The Feat of Clay is the first story in the series, and all its 9 pages of art by Rodrigo Stella will be serialized here on the website. After his fiancee dies a mysterious death, Clay turns to mysticism to bring her back to him--but death is a greedy adversary, and never lets anyone go without extracting a horrible price.

Begin reading here. Two pages now, more to follow next week.

Site Update: Now with Linking.

With the addition of the links page, the website is now mostly complete. (The Firefly link is still empty, but it will remain that way until I find a chance to finish writing that story. Then I'll put up the whole thing at once.)

The list of links is still fairly short--I've asked a few more collaborators whether they have banners, and if so, they will be added.

If you're interested in linking to this site, please also look at the links page to find my banners. I'd be more than happy to exchange banners with other sites.

Site Update: Comics & Stories.

The 'Comics & Stories' page on the website is now live. It contains the Haiku House of Horror bits and the two comic scripts previously posted on the blog.

And to celebrate the update, I've added a short prose story, 'The Abandonment of Point Hope.'

Further updates will be mentioned here. Hopefully, we'll be getting an actual comic soon.

Check it out here.
Deadlines, Redux.

Oh yeah, right. Well, it didn't happen quite on time, but the script is finished--and in the meantime even proofread and sent off.

Let's see if I can start finishing my next writing project tomorrow.

I've also added, or rather filled in, a section on the site. What used to link to 'Professional' now links to 'Translation Services,' which is a much more logical description of what the page is for. My résumé is on it in two different languages, as is a list of some of my translation work.
